I'm in a wonderful place and time in my life. I feel fortunate to have had many great opportunities to see and expearience this world in recent years. To build wonderful friendships, to love and to be loved, to know true loss yet to gain in personal growth and understanding along the way.
The year to come will include many challenges, but yield so many rewards as I pursue a new career working abroad and having the luxory to travel to new destinations on my leave. I am happy and excited for the future and for all the promise it holds. I can only hope and wish for you also my friends, the very best in love, life and happiness.
I have been promising myself as well as others that I would post pictures and try to document my recent travels. I guess you have to start somewhere, so here goes!!! :p A few words to get you up to speed and then hopefully some pictures when I have time to post them. Unfortunately my notebook crashed in transit, and thus will be my excuse if I don't keep my word (",)
In short, I started a new job working with in the siesmic industry (oil & gas exploration) of which I just recently completed my first hitch in Tanazania (East Coast Africa). I was suppose to be on a rotation of 6 weeks on and 3 off but as luck would have it my time was extended and I was out in the bush for 7 weeks (50 days) before I was able to return home on leave to the USA. (quite the run on sentence, i know!)
One good thing about being on for an extended hitch was that my leave was also extended to 27 days off which allowed me to take a mini vacation. And so with my last week off I am lucky enough to travel to Oslo Norway to visit one of my dearest and long time friends, Kenisha, her husband Tomas and daughter Jessica.
They were kind enough to put me up, entertain me and show me the sites around Oslo. More on that later, same with my first hitch in Tanzania, wink* wink* :D And so I had a restful time back home and an enjoyable first time in Europe. I leave for Tanzania in a few days and am surprisingly looking forward to returning to work.
I am very fortunate to enjoy what I do and the project site I am located on in Mnazi Bay, Tanzania. Not only that but it affords me the means and method to travel and live abroad. And so, where might be the next destination be you might ask???
I believe I will return back to Thailand in mid July to start looking for a homestead to keep between my future work schedule. During those 3 weeks off I may take a couple of mini trips, one perhaps to Shanghai (if time permits a visa) to visit a couple of friends and the other to Singapore where my Eastern Hemisphere Office is located.
Ok, I have rambled on enough this session. I had hoped to provide a quick snapshot of where I have been, currently are and where I am soon to be going. My intent is to try and update this profile on a regular basis (if anyone even cares to know, hahaha!) :P So stay tuned!!!
